I go to southern Utah every spring to paint some of the national parks in this area. The geology is unique in the world for the vertical rock formations, rock arches, and rock spires. Canyonlands is famous for these spires. My landscape paintings are done in plein air on location and have won many awards and have been represented in many galleries and studios in the United States. My floral paintings have won awards and been shown in numerous galleries within the United States. I use a variety of styles, colors and methods when creating my original watercolor paintings. I also specialize in watercolor paintings of sunsets over the ocean that I do on location en plein air. Other subject matters include pictures of ships, harbors, mountains, lakes, and seascapes. I use different methods such as a dry brush, wet into wet, scrubbing, washing, using masking fluid, and using white in places on some pieces—However, most are translucent water colors without the use of white. I use very bright colors: Dr. Ph Martins Hydrus Watercolor Sets, and the highest quality traditional watercolors. I also use the best watercolor paper from Arches most of which is cold pressed 140 to 300 pound paper that comes in a block. Generally, I use ultra-violet protective glass on originals. Some originals are already professionally framed in gold, or black frames. It is possible for the purchaser to select a style on an original that has not yet been framed at an additional cost. Shipping on originals comes through FedEx in protected pouches to protect the glass during shipping and they are insured.
